Set on a rich gold/yellow stroud background, a female polar bear and her two youngsters peer off to the right at something of interest. The starfish, spider and mussels attest to the location being on the beach near the water; several gulls fly overhead. A beautiful multicoloured portion of the ground on which the bears stand was created by the artist by stitching different coloured threads in close packed lines.
Embroidery stitches used: stem, satin, buttonhole with a crochet stitch border.
