A giant woman and man dance in elaborately beaded caribou-skin parkas, boots and leggings under a beaded orange sun, perhaps celebrating its return in the spring after a long dark winter. Below them, two smaller people gesture off to the right and left as if calling to their unseen friends. All four figures have carved antler faces and their parkas have caribou skin fringes. A magnificent piece in the characteristic style of this celebrated artist.
The embroidery stitches used in this piece include: seed, buttonhole, stem and a unique double herringbone stitch for the border.
